M3 automatic...most cost effective mods for performance (not including Supercharger)

    Hello all
what are the best mods. for an M3 automatic to make it go 0-60 sub 6 sec and 1/4 mile 14 sec or less?
is it possible without paying as much as it does for a supercharger?

off the top of my head:

    AA cold air intake?
    Dinan auto tranny chip?
    UCC exhaust?
    AA ECU chip?

    my friends stock Mercedes C43 is 0-60 in 5.7 sec....14.1 1/4 miles....5 speed automatic...it kills me!!!

    thanks all!!!

Tranny chip, tranny chip, tranny chip.... Probably one of the few Dinan products which is worth buying IMHO.

    No BMW for now
Depends on what year automatic M3 you have. If you have a 95 I would definitely go for the whole euro HFM setup which includes
    Intake
    540i HFM
    Larger Injectors
    Software

Then I would definitely get headers (the new ones from Evosport look nice)

    And of course an exhaust.

Then you can go to new cams and perhaps pulleys.....

If you have a 96+ there is not much you can do. You can still get intake/headers/exhaust/cams/software blah blah blah but you probably wont notice as much of a gain.

And I dont think all of these things combined will still get you sub 14 second. Check the other post you made as I have put down my 1/4 mile times in there. The Automatic M3's are weak, and unfortunately there is no aftermarket support for them

    E55 AMG or M5
The best bang for the buck is gears, intake and chip. 95's came with 3.23lsd diff and 96 and up came with 3.38lsd diffs. I have a3.91lsd and it is great made a huge difference and it still is a very easy going daily driver. I would have even gone to a 4.10lsd if I would have fould one. At 80mph with 3.91 gears I am only at 3100 rpms.
