Question MPG Gauge not working after Motor Swap - what to do?

I have a 318ti with an OBDI S52, and the MPG gauge is hooked up, but doesn't work because of the swap. I'd like to get it working. Any idea what to do?

I believe it directly affects the "miles before fillup" or "range" readout on the OBC. I want the "range" readout on the OBC.

aahhh... so your saying your range isnt working. well i can see how that would be annoying. Either way neither are accurate, but the range is handy.

Well, I don't have an OBC yet, so I don't know if range is working. I figured they got their info from the same place. The only thing I know that isn't working is the mpg gauge in the cluster.

well i would get an obc from somewhere and see, because i'm honestly not so sure they get their information from the same place... i could be wrong though.

anyways, i would double check your wiring.

Replace the gauge with something else. MPG shows up on the OBC anyways.

actually, i just rememebred, your range is measure by the same sensor that measures how much gas is in your gas tank.
dont know why i didnt think of that before lol...

I recently completed a 325is -> 332is and my MPG works on both the OBC and the cluster. It is not accurate however as my new injectors are 24lbs injectors which are larger than the stock 325 injectors. I believe the DME measures fuel useage by how often the injectors fire, not by how much fuel is actually used. So for now, I'm enjoying over 30MPG

Not sure if this can be adjusted by software. I'm running the Turner chip on my OBDI DME.
