Through the long and desolate winter of the great north we wait for that much anticipated first track day. It has finally arrived! New pads, Porterfield R4s, new rotors, european floating, new brake fluid, Castrol SRF (man its expensive), fresh Royal Purple in the oil pan and track wheels loaded in the car waiting to go.

For those of you eager to get out (that live in southeastern Wisconsin, Northeastern Ill.) I would suggest you follow my route and join up with the the Milwaukee region Porsche club and their drivers schools. You'll get out alot more then waiting for BMW club events. The Porsche club events are well run and attended by a group of good people. They even happily tolerate my M3. The events are held at Blackhawk near Beloit WI. ,a small, unassuming track. Blackhawk is not very long, not much elevation change, but lot's of twistees. Generally you'll find 911s, 928s, 944s, Boxster Ss, RUF prepared racers, twin turbo RX 7s and yes even an M3 or two.

Now let's hope it doesn't rain!
