Somewhat related question. My '99 came with CC, but because of a supercharger install, it was relocated to the passenger side firewall area with a wiring extension and custom bracket. I've decided to just eliminate the cruise control unit altogether from the engine bay. So now it's just one throttle body, one cable.....no more ASC, and no cruise control.

I know the ABS system doesn't like it if you pull the ASC system out completely, so I've still got the ASC cable drive unit (2 wire connector) still hooked up and lying in the engine bay (I know there's some resistor mod you can do).

But what about the cruise control unit? Will there be any codes thrown or negative effects elsewhere by just pulling the unit out of the engine bay and carefully capping off the wires on the chassis harness? Is there a fuse I should pull, or do I need to disconnect the cruise module under the dash? Or both?

I don't think you need to worry about any of that... But I'm no expert

I added cc to my car with this guide. I didn't have add any fuses or tweak computers etc. There are no dash lights associated with cc.

I'd bet if your yanked it, the car wouldn't know the difference.
If I were you I would just disconnect the Bowden cable unit and leave all the wiring/computer there in case you want to add it back later on.

Cool thanks! I'm definitely leaving (what's left of) the factory CC wiring, and I've already completely removed the actuator and Bowden cable from the throttle... Sounds like I'll be good to go.
