    Fuel Injector Cleaner

I think I need to get my injectors cleaned.... do you guys recommend any special gas treatment or should I take it to the mechanic?

I am noticing a little hesitation between when I press the gas and the engine starts reving... plus when I let off the gas it stits at it's current rpms for about a second or so before dropping....

I want to clean the injectors first to see if it helps, what do you use?

im against any of that shit....seen too many "casualties" from em. if you're running 92 octane consistenly....ur fuel injectors wouldn't be the problem....if u truely think its fuel related.....have u had ur fuel filter changed? thats always something to consider/look into

Yeah I always run 93 in it but I bought it with 54k on it... 67k now, and who know what the guy before me did. It was registered as a "Dimplomatic" car before me so who knows who owned it.

I thought I read somewhere that a couple tankfuls of Chevon with Techron is supposed to give the injectors a good enema.

    Just curious:

Did you read that somewhere OTHER than a Chevron billboard?

I use a product called B&G 44K. It is ~$18.00usd per one treatment can. It has worked well for me.

    Rob,
i have a 97 328i which i bought 7 months back at 54k miles and i have 67k now. i am planning to degunk the interior at my next oil change by dropping some b-12 which is supposed to clean all sludge and everything inside.
The sludge build makes sticky valves which also might be a problem.
oh laster when i was bleeding my brakes i took a moment to grease my control arm joints and steering rod joints (where the bushing are and it's like a new car feel now. Do that also whenever you plan take the wheels off.

I would recommend using Techron, as that is probably the best stuff out there. Like Seedster, I don't like using any additives (definitely do not use any oil additives), but if you do a lot of stop and go, use lower grade gasoline, and feel you may have a carbon/sludge issue, it is safe for your engine. If you opt to try it, make sure you do it a few hundred miles before your next oil change, since it will slightly contaminate your oil. That way it won't linger and will be flushed at the next change.

BG44 and Techron are good shit

My mechanics suggested the BG44 engine cleaner a while ago and the thing works wonders.

He used the fuel injector line to suck some of the BG44, then he poured some in the almost-empty tank, and had another mechanic floored my car in Neutral gear. There was this thick-thick big black smoke coming out of the exhaust. The car felt smoother and somewhat peppier afterwards. (maybe because I also did the Mobil1 oil change after?).

I also used the Techron occasionally for placebo effect:P Normally when I go on a long drive; that way I can burn the whole treated tank of gas at once before refilling....but that's just me.
