Prep for respray.

I have a 1994 318i with original paint. I am getting it resprayed the same color within the next couple of weeks. What should I do to properly prepare for the respray?

I'd be pretty wary of a body shop that expected me to do any prep work. Unless it was a friend of mine that was hooking me up, but then they'd be telling me exactly what kind of prep work they expected me to do.
