    Swapping out DME on 1994 325is

    Would anyone be able to provide information if swapping a Bosch Motronic M3.3.1 DME for a Bosch Motronic M3.3.1 w/ EWS-II is compatible?

    Yes our cars use the burgandy label, non ews.

    a DME with EWS of any kind will be looking for an EWS control unit, which your car does not have if it's pre-1/95, so I would say it's not gonna work, unless you run some crazy combo of it with an EWS-disabling chip ( I know Turner makes them for some of the later cars).
