lol, no. i mean i've done some dumb stuff but it was not something that stupid. however, i am not 100 percent sure yet. it's not mechanical. confirmed the cam timing, air tested the solenoid and plunger, replaced the cam position switch. thinking either wiring or dme.

but man once the vanos was on... my passenger was like... arrgggh!

hey guys down in california right now just finished up the national tour event down here.

    1) vic is fast as hell.
    2) drove like total garbage and still somehow managed to trophy with this setup.
    3) car needs better tires. probably of the 335 variety. corded a set of hoosier 245s in like no time flat. it was ugly. was on 2nd set by 2nd day of competition with 3 drivers.

gonna try to get some dyno numbers. also we are tentatively planning to show up at the wednesday spectator drags down at sears point. got some wrenching to do before then.

Gad to see it went well. Are you going to get an insane fender roll or what to fit 335's back there ? I cant wait to hear about the dyno #'s.

hi everyone, just wanted to give an update. well we were on a little bit of a rush to make the pro solo last weekend so last monday ordered up a set of kumho v710 275/40/17 for the meantime since they would fit on my existing wheels. the fenders, well they are a bit mutilated right now. thanks to navid of eXtreme performance for letting us borrow his fender roller. we did the best job we could on it quick and dirty. oh also thanks to richv of edge motorworks for showing us how to build the diff and to vic sias of sias tuning for letting us use his friction modifier.

also i have to say thanks so much to josh of eurosport for his great support this entire time. always way beyond the call of duty.

anyway, both my co-driver at the pro solo last weekend (alwaysracin) and i were lined up against vic's car for many of the runs. off the pro solo line (autocross drag race with a tree) the car was pretty much dead on with vic's national champion car which was pretty neat. *maybe* even a *teeny bit* walking. car is still about 100lbs overweight for the class as well and needs a TON of work to get to where vic and his car are. at least she's got it in the power department now.

i'm sort of on an extended vacation down here in sunny california. will be back up in wa like mid next week (or something like that) to get back to work on the car and get some dyno numbers, 1/4 mile times and all that for ya'll.

    later,
    ryan

Love the flare job. Tell scott he owes me $10.00

"walking" on me pleaZZe. Should I post the results.

You should have left your car here and let me put a Tec3 on it to see how much power I can make with a TS. No charge, you know just to test the waters. Maybe when I come up to the Tour I can stay longer and play with your car.

    yes
    Vic post them....

we installed new tires, springs, rebuilt the diff (tooo tight), corner weighted and aligned the car (in 1 week with no testing). It's bad when you look at each other and say what do you think for tire pressures.

I think it was a huge accomplishment, especially looking at the tour times, to the pro times.

Great offer Vic! How much would it cost for him to keep the TEC3 after you're done.

Ryan, I want to see pics of the car the way it sits now.

    hi guys.

vic, i knew that post would cause a little stir... anyway i said maybe because it was so damn close and hard to tell. then again scott was pulling consistent 1.9s 60fts when he was lined up with shawn on saturday morning so that probably had something to do with what we saw. wish we had 200fts. i was lined up with shawn on saturday afternoon and we'd stay together until we were looking at each other. he'd have a few cars from there, then he would just make crazy time through the fast slalom and offsets. that wing is really working on your car! anyway, i'll call you sometime next week, cool?

car definitely got better between the tour and pro, but vic, you and gary are still worlds away. you guys just keep setting the bar higher and higher which is why this class is so cool. scott's mid-30 is telling. there was a 29 in the car, but i was dirty on 31 flat first runs both sides on out sunday and couldn't really attack the 2nd runs.

john, you'll laugh at how badly mutilated it is. yeah i think a dmg rear flare is needed on the back of this car. will probably spend some time whether to go with the 18s or 17s on the back. that new 295/30 hoosier on uyeda's car looked hella neato.

can't get pics right now, car is locked up in a trailer already back in seattle and i am in vegas.

"My car is in Seatle, I took a mini vacation in Cali, and now I'm in Vegas baby! I think I'll just travel around the country going to Tour to Pro and visit all the cool cities on the way. I'll just have my henchmen deliver my car everywhere."

Why replace it? My M5 and 8lb flywheel are doing just fine and I've been having lots of fun. We'll see how well it does after the stage 2 is installed!
