Coolant leak visible under intake manifold

I saw coolant in the lower panel underneath the engine (2001 740i E38 M62).

I then looked from the top and saw a puddle of coolant under the intake manifold above the valley pan (view from front of car) just behind the throttle body.

It doesn't appear that the water pump or any other lines are leaking.

Has anyone seen this type of coolant leak? Although the coolant is above the valley pan, could the valley pan gasket be the problem?

That was my problem .. Go to e38.org intake manifold removal instruclions... ...JOHN
