    Big Black intercooler mounted..with aluminum...

Well, I mounted the Big Black, stealth cooler..And I used aluminum to mount it..Not a problem, its so rigid you can shake the thing and it moves the radiator...

I used some 1/8flat stock aluminum and welded a piece in the cross over part to make it stiffer then bolted it on both sides with two bolts, four total. Then went from the old AC fan mount down to the bottom of the IC and mounted it to the bottom..Then I put two stabalizing bolts from the brackets back to the AC condensor since all they do is keep it from moving back and forth they have no real load on them... The load is on the other six mounting bolts..

With the bumper cover on you cannot see it. Most definatly stealthy!!1

Steve (stimpee) had a black intercooler on his twinscrew 325is when I visited him a long time ago. I remember seeing that thing and my jaw dropping ... you could barely see it.

Honestly, I didn't even notice it until he pointed it out to me ... it was awesome!

    Nice work, man!

    Exclamation yeah

it turned out much better than I thought...Its frikin huge! I am having problems routing the piping back to the turbo without using a hard 90 degree turn, I have the wheels at full lock and the car on wheel stands to load it so I can see where the sway bar will be under load. I do occasionally hit full lock..while sliding sideways on the track Better to test it in the garage than on the race track..

I can't wait to get it finished!

    pipe

So looks like you used two 45's and a 180 cut down? have three 45's and one 90. I have a cast 90 that fits great but I really don't want a tight 90 at the intercooler. I'll try doing it like you have your's

    Any tire rubbing problems?

    Cool Black

I had it anodized cost 100 bucks to have it done. the inside is still bare aluminum. IC cost 185 so the black cost almost as much as the IC...BUT I wanted it black so it looked stealthy

That is true. My latest now looks like a front mount and is aluminum, no more black at the moment. I may anodize it at some point, but not at the moment.

For at least the time being, I am interested in advertising and attention, not stealth!

StrueB1 at what angle is that pipe coming off the turbo? It doesn't seem to be coming straight down at a 90 deg angle.

Its a silicone 90 but its not clamped at all so its hanging down a little from its weight.
