They make intakes for the e36 BMW line-up.
Just checking as I placed an order online and haven't gotten the package or an email in over a week. Been sending emails this week.
Their website is still up and the merchant/credit card account will still take your money.
FWIW, I am not starting a fire, but heck they are in San Diego and I am up in SF, that's only 3 days tops by UPS or FedEx ground.

i know one of their offices in San Diego closed and disappeared about a year ago. i got a hold of DanB on Yahoo once a long time ago and they were talking about opening a new office somewhere. I don't know if they went out of business, or simply closed an office and opened a new one. All of my emails sent to them in the last year have never gotten a reply.
Not to sound mean, but I hope they are out of business. When I bought my intake over 2 YEARS AGO they promised that the intakes would be CARB-certified in 6 months. It's been almost 3 years, where the heck is carb certification. So basically they lied to me in order to get me to buy their intake. LAME!!!
That's the e-mail they sent me, guess what the date is? "Thu, 8 Jul 2004 21:32:37 -0700"
LOL notice how he said they expect CARB within the next couple of months (couple means 2 months). It has been 21 months and still no carb certification.
Paul,
CARB has been delaying the certification. We are waiting on them to give us the green light for testing at a certified CARB station. Please be patient! I expect CARB within the next couple of months.

this is the last posts from them: http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum...d.php?t=372997
good luck, hope you get your product. if not, surely contact your cc company.
Hmmm... that explains the disappearance of Ignition Solutions (known for their Plasma Coils). I think BFP was sharing office space with Ignition Solutions as they were right next to each other. Sometime last year, Ignition Solutions disappeared along with BFP.Originally Posted by shragon
But, that was last year. Have they not recovered since? Both Ignition Solutions and BFP websites are still up, though not updated.
:| sheesh....they really need to message the out of business thing online

OK, Benfer charged my mastercard Saturday AM for $148 for the 1995 E36 Valve Cover. Ok, let's see if it shows up.
Anyone else get a Benfer charge?

UPDATE 4/22/06:
Benfer Charged my credit card on 4/7/06 for the price of the intake $148.98.
It's the 22nd and after 4 emails and 1 call (line disconnected)...I ended up calling Citibank to do a merchant dispute.
Call me impatient, but UPS Ground from La Jolla to San Francisco isn't 2 weeks...it's usually 3 days.

Yeah... sounds like BFP is completely dead. Even if they came back, doesn't seem like the type of place people would want to do business with. It isn't hard to take down a website at the least, or at best put up a page saying sorry, we're out of business for now...
I hate to hear the problems you are having with BFP. From what I know, BFP has closed its doors. We have hooked up with the manufacturer of BFPs CF products and are exclusively distributing for them. You'll find them on our site under the name Quatro. Hope this helps. Good luck to you who are having issues.
yep, i got the word from evosport and turner that they closed... i really wanted a powdercoated s50 valvecover too!

if they've closed down, they should also close down their site. shouldn't take very long to do.

Wrong. Benfer never made one of the products he sold. The carbon fiber products were made by Quatro Composites. We also sell them.
