Sounds like a fair deal. I'm with ya on the Contours, good choice. Give it a drop and it'll be a looker.

Very good deal. Are you keeping you 540i/6? I miss mine a lot, especially on the freeway. I miss the torque the most.

Sounds like a good deal. I am giving a guy 18500 for a 99 with just under 60K miles and a few Dinan upgrades on Monday. My insurance company told me that list at a dealer with 60K miles is over $22K.

All year long the grasshopper kept burying acorns for winter, while the octopus mooched off his girlfriend and watched TV. Then the winter came, and the grasshopper died, and the octopus ate all his acorns and also he got a race car.

Sold it about 2 months ago....I know I'll miss the torque and pull but hopefully the handling will more than make up for it...

I would think that car to fetch close to $19K. $17K is a great deal. Contours > LTW's. LTW's are only obsessed about because they came on the LTW, if it was vice versa, everyone would want Contours.

I like LTW's because they look good, are wide, and are light. Contours don't compare.

sounds like a decent deal. I paid 17.5 for my 98 coupe with 69k, m5o mani, aa exhaust, UO pulley, hids, GC race coil overs, uuc shortshift. Ive had the car 3 weeks now and ive added UUC swaybarbarian, DSR cams, GIAC software, UUC pulleys ("super"underdriven and no ill effect thus far), UUC motor and tranny mounts, LED tails, and upgraded to ZKW's with Halos. Without fine tuninng i hit 245whp and 230wtq. DSR as well as myself are a little disappointed so we put a different program in it but havent re-dynoed it yet. Feels stronger... should be over 250whp now.

Very good deal. The others are right about LTW. They were a $1400 option, if memory serves. They are much lighter, and I think less prone to bending because they are forged. (?)

I guess the wheels are pretty subjective. If you like the contours, you will have no problem finding somebody who will unload theirs for yours.

    Good luck...

im paying 21 for the same car tommrow.

but.. its from a dealer, i have a warenty. there is no mechanical or visual defects (i checked the car out GOOD) and they financed me, cheap.
you dont make enough money working on bmws to buy with cash, so i went this route.
oh yea, and this is cali. cut 2-3k off any price elsewhere.
