Question Anybody know where to find compatibility of parts based on BMW part program?

I have a few unidentified parts that were given to me, which I believe are mostly from various E21s. 7 parts total that I cant figure out what they're out of... I tried www.realoem.com and the part numbers must be too old to be identified there.

is there a ETKA or similar parts program for BMW out there?

If anyone would like to help me out, I will conpensate, as this is driving me bananas.

the real OEM is an online version on the ETK minus a few features.
you can look up part via their number, and also then see what vehicles that part was fitted to.
if you can't get an ETK CD, tell me the numbers and i'll be able to pull up the info you need

I can't figure out how to do this either.
You can't do a part search intil you identify a vehicle then if you do a parts search and it isn't for that car it says "Sorry this part number is not in the parts catalog data base. Or not installed in this model.

    What am I doing wrong?

from the start screen, hit additional info> parts use.
that allows you to search irrespective of model info.

you can then enter a nuber and find what models were installed with from the factory. unfortunately, it will never say what can and can not be fitted, just what was and was not fitted
ie you won't see the m50 325 manifold listed as a part for a 323/328

BMW part numbers change over time. Often they change many times.

Realoem only has the most recent part number (usually) so it's not good for searching stuff like you're trying to do.

BMW dealers have a way to search for a part number and get every other part number that can be used instead of that part, and it tells which are newest and which are oldest.

PM me the numbers and I'll see what I can come up with.
