Is it possible to remove the rear doors window motor w/o dropping the glass? Has anyone tried this or do I have to mess with the window regulator. I know in the front doors you don't have to drop the glass, but the rear looks a lot different. Thanks for anyone that knows!
**Tear** Nobody has done this before?
Why do you need to remove it... perhaps we can better determine a solution for you if we know your intentions?
The end is near.
Replacing it because it is non-functional...I'm just wondering if it's necessary to drop the glass or if you can do it w/o dropping the glass...
Anyone?
I haven't done a motor or regulator on an E36 sedan before, but from other 4-doors cars, you shouldn't have to take out the glass. Should be able to move it to the right spot so you can take it loose, and just move it up and out of the way.
Could be wrong though.
What does the Bentley say?
I have haynes...he does not help me...only tells me about taking the regulator off and the glass...no motor...**tear**...Any other sedan owners want to chime in? I could get a picture up...
been there done that.
u *CAN* remove it without disturbing the whole window winder assembly. as far as i remember, it was quite easy.. my only gripe then was then i had to replace the whole damned motor when my window started stuttering...it moved an inch everytime u pressed the switch! turns out the relay is soldered onto the motor controls together...
