    E36 rust

This amazing deal on a convertible e36 showed up, only $2100. The engine and trans are sound and I really want to pull the trigger but this rust is concerning under the front left fender. Is this structural?
    Still worth or no?

    Welcome to the Forum!

Ouch! That's structural from the looks of it. Would be great as a donor car if you have one that the motor/trans is shot in, but not worth more than 500 bucks in my book.

I absolutely concur with both of the guys above. A convertible doesn't have much structure anyway, and one with that kind of rust is ready for the junkyard. Run away!

My neighbor has an E36 convertible with rusted out sections behind the left and right front wheels. As someone else mentioned, this is a structural area, and not something easily replaceable. In my neighbor’s case, the left front jacking point “caved in” when he tried to jack the car from that location!

    Stay away from it.
