the sc300 in a 5 speed isnt to rare its the sc400 youll never find in a manual
5spd sc300 is pretty rare, and they never made 400s in manual so it's not relevant.Originally Posted by 93bmw325is

yeah sc300's arent so much rare in 5spd as they are desirable in 5spd. Either way good luck with the sale
yes indeed they did, and they cam with 2jz engines non-turbo. exept manual 400s are ver very very rare in the states, and there rare in japan alsoOriginally Posted by Iron Chef
Are you guys kidding? There is no SC400 ever offerred in the states with a manual. Maybe in Japan, MAYBE. The SC300 is rare with a manual, give him that. An NA Supra in luxury clothes.

thats why i said youll never find itOriginally Posted by Iron Chef
i know that the 2jzge engine is the one in sc300. but there are manual 1uzfe, ill give you that they were never offered, doesnt mean that no one has shipped over a couple, i know 2 people with one with a manual sc400, one with a sc300 manual tranny, idk if they swapped or came stock. Like i said very rareOriginally Posted by Iron Chef
nice car..almost bought one a year ago-i heard they are rare(sc 300 speed) some people look for these and swap in the supra twin turbo engines in them, direct bolt on-cheaper than buying the real tt supra...good luck on the sale...
Nice car. I always liked those.
Good luck with the sale

Wow, I'd like to see some pictures of those manual SC400s. As far as I knew, Toyota didn't even make a transmission that could mate to that engine.Originally Posted by bmwracer101

It was a different engine. Please read above posts.Originally Posted by bmwracer101

I highly doubt a supra 6 speed would bolt up to a sc400 v8 (that was never offered as a manual to begin with) without extensive work
Post pics of your friend's manual sc400 as it must be a beast
^^^ What they said, I have two SC's a SC300 5spd, and a SC400. The SC300 is a 2jz-ge (3.0 liter straight six, non-turbo), SC300 = 3.0 liter. SC400 is a 1uz-fe, a 4.0 liter v8, hence the SC400. Toyota does not make a transmission that is a direct bolt in for the v8, granted there is a few known 5spd SC400, it was never a factory option, not here not Japan or anywhere else. The SC300 shares the same motor as the non-turbo 4th generation supra. The turbo 4th generation supra comes with a 2jz-gTe. Thats why the GTE swap is common, it's a bolt in deal, then just wiring.
^^, Im with him. An SC400 was never offered as a factory option of transmission, therefore, the SC300 5speed is the rarest of the breed. Toyota never legally certified an SC400 manual, therefore, it's not relevant.
