Woodcliff Lake, NJ - February 16, 2006... Committed to developing the best performing vehicles in the luxury market, BMW with ALPINA has created a special high performance version of BMW’s 7 Series luxury sedan. The 2006 BMW ALPINA B7 brings together the luxury, pioneering design, and advanced technology of the 7 Series Sedan with the scintillating performance of a supercharged, 500hp V-8 engine.
To power the BMW ALPINA B7, ALPINA specially developed a higher-performance version of BMW’s 4.4-liter, 90-degree V-8 engine and mated it to a 6-speed automatic transmission featuring steering wheel mounted shift controls. The motor produces 500 horsepower at 5,500 rpm along with maximum torque of 516 lbs.-ft. at 4,250 rpm, and propels the B7 from 0-60 mph in a mere 4.8 seconds. ALPINA 21-inch wheels carry Z-rated performance tires, while the sport-tuned suspension includes Active Roll Stabilization. The B7 aerokit includes a rear spoiler to improve stability, handling, and performance at high speeds.
ALPINA was established in 1964 as an official and approved “ennobler” of BMW automobiles. Their tradition is to take production BMWs and make them even more appealing to connoisseurs of automotive finery.
With this new model, BMW will raise the benchmark for the segment in terms of performance, refinement, technology, and luxury. Approximately 200 US-version cars are planned for the 2006 model year, with a release date in July 2006.

Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by hundreds of engineers that get paid thousands of dollars for something you bought at Pep Boys because your buddy who doesn't have a job told you it was 'better'?!?
Wow, nice to see BMW bringing another sick Alpina into the US! Bet that thing will be 110k+

That is my future car!
Alpina even makes the rear of the E65 look good.
I'll post engine pictures and other complete photos later today or tomorrow.

That car is so sexy. E66s own.
Ive seen that car in person. one word sexy.
if i had the money i would rock that.
110k? The e60 M5 costs 97k. That thing has to be astronomically high in price with only 200 US models being fabricated. I'm thinking a good sum higher.
4.8 is real quick too for the 7, i wonder what the launch is limited to for the US models compared to the Euro.
Why not use the 4.8 motor?

2011 E92 M3: Space Grey/Black/Blue aluminum trim, Premium, iDrive, DCT
that would be a real cool car to have
Here's a bigger pic of the same thing that Kevlar posted, except it doesn't have Alpina and the license plate photoshopped out.
Are they not going to have Alpina written on the front like that in the US models?
Looks like a great car. I almost want to see quad exhausts on such a beast.
That would make it look too much like an M. I think they are using this to test to see if the market is there for a future M7.Originally Posted by renemesis

mmm alpina is sexy. I love their classic styling wheels.
I about died when I went into the BMW dealership in Kuwait (well, BMW, Mini, Land Rover, and Rolls Royce dealership) and they had one sitting next to a M5. It has a flip up screen in the center console for the rear passengers. The audio system is insane. The rims...oh man, I'm not a rims guy but these things were rocking. They were not shy about the price being KD 32450 either. Someone over here will buy it
My e46 is for sale!
Not bad at all. I was soo expecting a quad tip when I looked at the booty pic tho.
