m2 mobbin, you are trying to get 230whp out of the 2.8. What other mods do you hav done...looks like you still have the obd2 manifold. You will prob have to get the obd1 manifold to peak hp that high on that car.....im currious what other mods you have done. I dont believe just .5 compression will give you that much power unless you run race fuel. Let me know what else you have done to that motor.

Whats your guys MPG? This is mostly directed to people with cams and putting down 200 and more.

I get between 20 and 24 most of the time, but my right foot is particularly heavy sometimes.
And I also forgot to add I have the 3.23 LSD, which certainly doesn't help mileage.

I'll post the dyno sheet and other conditions later, but this is for my E36 325:
'95 325i
prod. 4/95
170k miles
-Conforti intake
-M3 camshafts
-UUC exhaust
-Custom software
202 rwhp@6500
183 lb-ft@4700
The motors pulls strong above 4000 rpm. With the right cams and proper tuning, these motors really wake up compared to stock form. I did have the Conforti M3-cam specific chip on the car for a while. I'm not sure it produces the same max hp and max torque figures that my custom chip does, however it is nicely-tuned piece with a very smooth power band. I did not have the car dyno'd with the Conforti chip, but based on my experience with it I would estimate max numbers to be closer to the 190-195 rwhp/175 lb-ft range.

I don't really see how gearing matters on the dyno, provided the tires aren't slipping. You might just get a more detailed graph if you run in a taller gear because the dyno run takes longer. Even if you're in 5th (1:1) there is still a gear reduction in the diff.
For the 328 guys, is it worth moving to a full 3.5" intake? (CAI, HFM, boot, bored TB)

First off, numbers look very good! I have talked to a very reputable tuner and I was told no on the 3.5" HFM. Knowing they could have made $$$ off of me for the adapter and tuning, yet I was still told it wasn't worth while, that tells me he was being honest, IMO. Now, the BBTB, I plan on buying myself, it appears as if we have similar mods and even the same color CAR! I am told Madeira Violet is rare here in the states, i love the color personally. to modded mad violet cars

P.S. Do you know if Adriano from Maxbimmer, still has that silver car with all the nifty extras?
