This is my first attempt with this motor. I learned a ton a will change up a few things next time out.
Specifically I'm going to keep the AA stuff, but try to find some KK headers and a Spintech muffler. I'd also like to see what removing both the PS and Alt are worth.
I have the dyno sheet but I'd prefer not to post it We did a lot of work to keep torque flat as we could. Also, I'm purposely being vague on a couple items that race builders will recognize.

Original thread starter here - I've been away from the forums for several years and I was really surprised and pleased to see that the community kept the dyno thread going strong. It was always fun to see what people were able to extract from their cars. I look forward to getting my stock new-to-me 328i back on here at some point to see how close I can get it to the old monster (which really wasn't that monstrous compared to some I've seen on here lately - nice work guys & gals).

I spent some time with a new tuner. These are the improvements made by him after my old tuner told me that's all he could get out of it. I was also told by another tuner on here that there was not much he could do. Picked up some area under the curve - 8-10ft/lbs for almost the whole curve, and an extra 9-10whp peak.
Same dyno and same operator as before. Very similar weather conditions, but that shouldn't matter as its SAE corrected.

stock 97 328i on Mustang dyno. 188TQ/175HP. not sure what's going on with TQ - thought it would be a clogged cat, but HP doesn't choke. in any case, a base run before the kit.

Hello im looking for a good quality scan or original file of a dyno with not more than 230whp. Im going to register my BMW as turbo in Finland but i need "proof" that its not more than 20% of original power. Im not living nearby a dyno + its expensive to do runs. So if anyone can send i will be very happy, if anyone had papers already from Finland or Sweden that would be even greater. i can edit details with photoshop.

I have been "digitizing" some of the dyno graphs located here for the M52:
http://www.r3vlimited.com/board/showthread.php?t=327183&page=23
I then put the data in spreadsheet form, using open office where each worksheet represents a car. The summary tab allows you to choose based on modifications and gives you max hp @ rpm, max tq @ rpm and area under the curve for hp and tq. You can choose what rpm range you want for the area under the curve.

Curious if anyone else thought there would be other data useful to pull out of these dyno runs.... Thoughts/feelings?
List dyno type and whether sae or std if known. Same car same mods and various dynos gives varied results. I would actually recommend having different spreadsheets for the different dyno brand results so there is no confusion.

Any thoughts on how much is due to the midpipe vs muffler delete? I have a pair of straight through glass packs set up basically like a homemade Rouge DMS. Which should have about the same effect as no muffler. But I am still using the OBD1 midpipe. 13HP and 10 ft/lbs is more than I would have expected.

Hard to say. The first dyne was when it was kinda chilly (45-50) and the second was warmer (70-75). Not sure if it possible the tune is better at that temp. They also use correction factors and they may add to the + or - in accuracy of dynos.
