Car was running on 1 of 4 O2 sensors, and spark plugs were fouler than Hilary Clinton's you know what. AFRs were probably in the high 10s to low 11s (car SPEWED black smoke, so much so that the entire building filled up over the 2 runs)

I know this might sound dumb, but has anyone ever dynoed a stock e36 M52 for kicks and giggles?
Stock 328 (automatic) page 2, post # 42
Year: 1993
Build Date: 7/93
Mods: Intake, filter attached at air meter; fan delete
Dyno Type: Dynojet
Dyno Conditions: On graph
Gear Dynoed: 3rd
Peak HP: 159.66
Peak Torque: NA (No RPM sensor, so no torque.. It was free tho)
Whats the t.weight of your autos guys?
I have a 318i 93 4dr 110k miles, that I'm starting work on now. Recently bought- untouched by me, but many additions from previous lady owners son...ie. 10mm UUD spacers, black Diamond race grooved and cross drilled massive rotors etc
What dya reckon my car will be at on a dyno- on average guess work?
The standard UK spec as it is, for the M43 engine was 1260kg 111whp 108lbs/ft and thats around 7.9seconds -100kph. Bearing in mind, the rest of the cars are much much heavier, ie. the 318is 2dr @ 140bhp but @ 1305kg!
I didn't actually buy it for or look for speed and power, nor had it in mind at all- this is just a side effect after, my younger brother beat a 98 328is in a untimed local race @ 1/4 mile mark.
And its first time its been over 4000rpm, never has the first lady owner before took it and defnitely not by me.
Looking at chasis and weight, I'm now thinking of chucking an M3 Evo2 engine into front with many extension and body strengthening which (if keeping the mods) would have it running 60bhp and 60lbs-ft higher than a factory M3 @ around 1230kg!!
While many of the rest BMW's are at 1300-1400kg!
Sub4.3 seconds is a good chance, even sub4sec.
I reckon around upper 5second mark 0-60mph with my current setup though.
How much would you guys expect the cost to be for this car with the M3 conversion, but at 1200ish kg and 450bhp with 400 lbs-ft??
Appreciate replies.
In the past month I have:
Replaced T-stat w/ 75 degree (fdm)
Replaced Coolant Hoses; Upper, Lower & Overflow tank w/SAMCO pieces
Replaced Coolant Level Sensor
Replaced Fan Swtich to lower temp model (fdm)
Removed Mechanical Fan (fdm)

Replaced VANOS Solenoid
Replaced VCG
Replaced Spark Plug gaskets
Replaced Spark Plugs
Replaced O2 sensors
Replaced Intake Boot

Edge Motorworks in Dublin has one. There are some closer places in the South Bay, but I don't remember any of them off-hand.

Whoomah!
325is with FDM, s50 cams, CAI, cat-back exhaust, turner Chip specific for cams. Turns out htat the Vanos was unplugged for my runs, which we figured out after so I did not get the bennefit of the VANOS, but still some very good runs!
I have a manual ,, why you ask?Originally Posted by maretolimac

If only the US market had a set of rules for all dyno operators to follow instead of giving over exagurated figures.

Since this dyno was the kind where they take your wheels off and bolt the car into the machines, the numbers are a little inflated. The guy said to subtract about 8hp. Still though, 185hp I'm going to dyno again after I do M50 intake manifold. Stay tuned (=
