BMW turbo street car Drag Racing 101
[QUOTE=MrBlonde;24233462]Hi Richimar, great pass. You ran 11.5 with trap speed of 116 MPH? Are you using the BMW OEM rear end and unmodified bodywork? Can you tell us more about your car? Is it NA?
Hallo guys..
Sorry for the delay I am working @ home it took all my time and I had no time for the car and nothing but we are now.
and yes till now I have the oem rear ends and the unmodiefied body thats why I cant take off faster but I am preparing to upgrade it but that will be for next year maybe.
My car is a 318I 1989 4 door I swap an m106 turbo engine in from a bmw e23 1985 745I.
I have change the manifold and turbo and running megasquirt.
In this race I blow my head gasket so we know that it will run lower times soon.
In this year I didnt race because I have overhaul the engine and than we had problems with the pressure plates I am breaking them.
So now I decide to try yousing the m5 flywheel and clutch kit to see if it can handle the power.
I am waiting for the clutch to arrive so I can assemble it.
If you guys have an opinion I will be glad to hear it from you.
Later I want to go with a transmision but that will lead to a lot of money from where I live.
I am working around the house that take all of the money already hhh.
But if the clutch can handle the power I will dyno the car back and on the 28 of this mount we will run again after more than a year.
Lets hope no more problems....
If you want to know something else or you have an opinion of what I can do with the car please let me know I will be glad to know what you guys are thinking ....
Regards,
Richimar
I believe David's first few live axle passes were in March of this year
when he whacked the wall.

Paulius Vaskelis into the nines in the PRo Street class!
Mike Polley climbs higher!
Mike Ruppert straight into the tens with a very efficient pass.
Ryan Needham a monster 144 MPH and a ten second pass with only a 2.08 short time. Watch this space!

i thought the non bmw transmission, oversized slicks, widebody flares, and exhaust exiting the side fender of david trans car was enough to deem it a pro street and not a street car but i guess i was wrong. lol
1005whp/831wtq little bit of low boost pump gas magic...

Who knows what the 2nd pass would have been =(
Hello
Long time since somebody posted. Last weekend was great day for us. We broke our record in Lithuania on totally unprepared track (local concrete airfield without ANY glue We went 9,81@246KMH (152,8mph) and later backed it up with 9.73@254kmh(158.1mph).
Breakdown of the slip (sorry no print out as we get out slips by SMS):
0,60 1,64 246,00 9,81 0,57 1,60 254,48 9,73
So this was done with only 1.6 60ft on totaly unprepared track. Also what seems very unbelievable that it was done with only 1.6bar (23.2psi) boost. On the final run we tried to up the boost by 3psi and the car overpowered tires in 3rd gear so we let it down and coasted with
0,60 1,60 205,00 10,03
it is 127.3mph
Here is that final run with bolt on GT-R:
Hope to do clean run with more boost.
