That's great, I've been a riding a long time my advice skip the race bikes and get a cruiser.
you're about to slide down. Addicting. Buy your first sport bike one day, and 6 months later you'll be doing this . . .
That's me on California Speedway in August. I woke up one morning in the pits with full race leathers, race boots, gloves, back protector, track day registration, and, oh yeah, a big ass credit card bill. Still wondering how it all happened

I'm on the edge of that slope myself... I went to go buy a helmet from the local motocycle shop a couple of days ago and man... half of me wanted to take home a new R1.
Let me get this straight... You are swapping out parts designed by hundreds of engineers that get paid thousands of dollars for something you bought at Pep Boys because your buddy who doesn't have a job told you it was 'better'?!?
That's a beautiful machine

That's good advice. Sport bikes are just too tempting to lay off the throttle. Too many buddies have gone down. I sold mine.Originally posted by Rave M5

That is a sweet ride man.
Whatever kinda bike you get, ya gotta be responsible. I limit my riding to recreation only. No commuting, no running errands. Just early-morning rides into the mountains, group meets, and track days. Yeah, track days: I get all my adrenaline kicks out of my system during a day at the track, that way I'm semi-responsible on the street.

yeah, I really want one, but I think Im going to wait. Me and the wife want to start having kids next year, so the money would be better spent saved. I'll get one eventually. Hopefully sooner than later. It was so much fun to ride, even though it was a little 150cc bike!

How was the class? In terms of endurance, and just learning to ride. I haven't ridden yet, but I will be starting classes next week. We'll have to see how that goes, maybe i'll be commuting on something other than my m3.
Alvin
its a good class. They start with basics and teach you how to ride properly. Classroom session is 2 days 6-10 pm, and 2 sunday mornings 6am-12pm.

Chuck, where did you go? This sounds like fun.
one of my friends recently bought a Kawasaki Ninja 250cc bike and it looks amazing !!!! its a 2002 model, less than 6 months old and he paid $3000. i want to get one now . I was looking at the kawasaki website, i like the Eliminator 125 also(one of the cruisers) and its abt $2500. I am gonna start looking for some used bikes, anyone know any good websites for used motorcycles ???
later...
get the bike man....you wont regret it...you can leave it at my house to hide from the wifey if you want......
here's my new toy in the garage...teaser for ya...

The new Ducati 999 is nice! I wish I could afford to have two bikes. Thanks for the compliment (John & Phantom).
Chase,
Nice bike are those stock pipes?
vishal its through Cerritos college. Its $200 and if you pass, you dont have to take the driving test through DMV. I heard its near impossible to pass through DMV. Pass this class, and you get a certificate and you only need to take a written test.
Learning on the kawasaki eliminator 125. Its a fun little bike. I really need to wait before I buy one though. I dont think I can handle anything more than a 600. The 125 was already heavy enough for a skinny guy like myself. I keep thinking of buying one, but gotta keep telling myself no. When I do though, I'll buy a used one first.

that new Ducati 999 looks like crap compared to the old design (dating back to 1994) of Ducati 916/748/996/998. I love my 748, it is a work of art, they say Ducati is Ferari of motorcycles!

I also have Ninja ZX-7R which is my track bike, it is also a very nice bike, not as sexy as Ducati, but it serves it's purpose well

No Cruiser will bring as much fun as a sports bike, it's like comparing a Cadillac with M3, both are cars, but you know the difference...
Just don't get R1 as your first bike, get something smaller, slower, so you learn all you need before steping up to a big bike.
I dont think I can even pick up a 1000 cc bike. I think 600 will be my cap. The yamaha r6 looks like a good choice for me

A couple of my friends just got motorcycles...one of them learned to ride and got his license in 3 days!!
I have a very simple commute to work, I wish the bmw wasn't so damn expensive, I would buy a bike too..
The ducati monster 900 is my favorite bike
Hey, as long as we're posting track photos:
Unfortunately, this one needs to be sold ('97 Triumph Daytona)... I'm so going to miss her...
