    any chance they'll build a E46 M3 4 door?

I must have a 4 door due to my baby daughter. I really wanted the E46 but had to settle for E36 when I bought my car this year.

That would be a really cool car to have as a family man tho. Holy crap all of the other parents would be envious as hell to see you pulling up in that car for soccer practice.

Buy a 330 and put a blower on it, probably spend less cash overall and have more power and much more torque...

Aww, you poor, poor thing you! Stop your bitchn'!

    Ok. I was just kidding.

    :
I think they won't make a e46 m3/4 because BMW wants you too buy their M5 if you want 4 doors and performance.

If he wants more power, slap a blower on his E36 M3/4, if he wants the new E46, but with more power, slap a blower on the 330, it's really very simple...

It's not gonna happen for several reasons. I got the scoop when I was in the mother land a couple years ago.

    1. Too close of a competitor to the already popular M5, and it would cost 20-30K less.

    2. Too difficult to make useable rear doors on a widened E46 4 door chassis. It would incure huge costs in body shell redesigns.

    3. Any model that is available in a 4 door cannot compete at LeMans. This is why the E36 never went the LeSarth.

I remember seeing it done on a 95 M. Now that would be nice.

hmm. I wonder if I can get the proper brackets and quick release fasteners so I can move the YS-trim between the mustang and ///M?:

    LOL.

Guess I'll wait 4-5 years till the kid can get in/out of cars by herself and go back to a 2 door.

where can I see pics of the RMS stage 2 kit (kit and installed)?

I can get used V1 S-trim or V2 sq trim head units for $1k. Maybe RMS can sell me a kit sans the blower to save some money. Just curious at this point.

Alan, what are you actually looking for in your ///m? just more power? Is the chassis dramatically improved? Put a blower on your car and it would haul ass! Ttyl.

I'll buy some of those arguments agains the 4 door M3 but not the one about the body being too expensive to do...

The 2 door M3 is completely different from the rest of the 2 door 3-series. The same would be true of a 4 door. Slapping on a bumper cover, a rear valence and cutting some holes in the front fenders would not be how the factory would go about making an M3. BMW has engineers not jackasses with power tools. Besides, the current M3 is selling well enough, why bother? Their efforts are better expended elsewhere, like the new M6!

Redesign and retool = $$$$$$$ Nothing to not believe there, it's fact.

I agree with why bother since they sell ALL the M3's they can produce. But the rest of your statement will need some actual proof as to why it would be sooo different. Do you build these things to be so sure? It's still an E46 chasis and if demand in Europe was better, you can be SURE they would produce it. Especially the year or two between the old and new M5's. That's probably the real reason behind no 4 door M5. The interior space is almost the same between the two and like Brian said, it's $20K less.
