OK, so I finally made a wheel decision and went with Kosei K1's. 17*8.5 w/ Eagle F1's. They arrived yesterday and I'm very happy about the combination. Haven't done an extensive test drive as it was raininig like mad last night.
Now, where do I get center caps for these things? Or am I doomed to a life w/ out them?
youre doomed as far as i know

I agree. I like the wheel, but to me, they just look a little "unfinished" without a cap. Very racy, though!

I run the kosei's as my track wheel. I have never seen a kosei w/ the ctr cap. Also, Tirerack does not even offer a ctr cap when you purchase through them.
Yeay, I like the look, but I love the fact that they are so much lighter than 8.5 contours, which is what I was planning to put all around.
Is there any danger of dirt getting someplace where it shouldn't?
Are there any onther center caps that will fit? What about the nipple-esque SSR caps?
just leave them the way they are pansies....
btw Kosei's aren't for looks
That's why I bought 'em. Still would like to know if I can get center caps to fit.Originally Posted by hinzm3

There aren't any centercaps, also if you're using them as track wheels you don't want any as they can fly off.Originally Posted by CosmoM

hahaha, im thinking of selling my BBS wheels to fund 2 sets of kosei's down the road....post your pics, I wanna see em!
had camera issues last night,.. will try to post this weekend
I have a set of OZ wheels with the same deal, two beat up center caps and two missing. I plan to just cut out some stock aluminum of the correct diameter and use some harware springs for my connection to the wheel. You know the springs, the ones that hold a broom handle to a wall. I will drill through the center cap using an 100 degree angle and use a 100 degree screw that will hold the spring to the center cap. I will just put a BMW sticker over the area that I drilled the screw. Will look better then no cap and should look pretty stock as well.
Not that hard to do. Biggest issue is getting the correct diameter and making sure it is circular and not an oval. I will post once I get these done...
I'd use a hole saw. Aluminum is soft and should be no problem using a cheapo hole saw, ala Harbor Freight.Originally Posted by fun2drive

The issue with the Koseis is that the front wheel has the nipple part of the hub (now idea what it is called) that sticks out past the face of the wheel's center. The rears don't.
So for this solve to work for the fronts, you'd have to build some sort of a cup shape to the cap, which I assume is a bit more challenging. Any ideas?

Forget the center caps, wheels look great on the car as is. Nice pics.
I sold mine a while back, but they were great at the track!
What kind of rims are those? I want them.Originally Posted by hinzm3
