I going to buy Short Shifter and everyonetell me to go on http://www.bmaparts.com and get shifter form them,
BUT now i have problem what shifter i need ,one from Z3 or Z4 , i have read something about shifter from Z3 with 3.0 motor ???
And parts are included with this shifter from BMA

My 318 has a Z3 1.9 shifter and my M3 has a Z4 3.0. I prefer the Z3 1.9...less notchiness and not much longer of a throw.

Z4 3.0 FTW I would go with nothing else and I've used the Z3 1.9 and the M roadster shifter.
They do not have the parts listed on their website, you have to call and talk to Patrick

trust me you will love it.....
might be a little notchy at first but give it a week to get settled.
I love my Z4 shifter, but haven't had a Z3 so I don't know what I'm talking about.

I've been thinking about this mod ever since my room-mate got a M3 with a short-shifter, at first I hated it, but now I'm kind of liking it.
I got two more things to do together with nex SSK, just got 2 qt Redline MTL from summitracing.com and bought a few pipes for exhaust (bye bye clogged Catalytic Converter )

i don't like the short shift style. Don't know what it is about it. My dads passat has a really short shifter, and it feels too weird in comparison.

i love my SSK i just put it in, havn't driven it yet, but i sat in her on the lift and went through the gears! hahaha... tomorrow it should be on the road, in tip top shape. but its not too notchy, i dont know what some people are complaining about... but i guess its all about prefrence.

Just come back from garage, Z4 3.0i SSK and 2 catless pipes are installed,man this shifter is awesome, and i finaly figure out whats you guys mean by notchy, its same thing my 94 Mustang GT have with aftermarker PRO 5.0 shifter, its clicks
I'm happy , thanks guys on help to decide what shifter to get
BTW Bitch bolt was easy because i had driveshaft out and tranny was lowered 1.5"
