Get it for cheap, and do a swap is my suggestion. If swapping in an engine is as easy as a Honda, then it shouldn't be too big of a deal.
YOU SHOULD GET IT AND TRICK HIM. JUST FIX ONE OF THE HEADS AND GET BY 1/2 AS CHEAP. ALSO, TELL HIM THE "I" HEADS ARE REALLY REALLY RARE IN 85 SO ITS GOING TO BE MORE TO FIX.Originally Posted by whitedove

-To the thread-opener: there is no such thing as a 1985 325i. 87-91 only. It must be an 325e, in which case dont spend any money on it. Oh yeah it has only one head so don't say "heads".
-Oh, I can tell now that Blunt was making a joke. Good one.

step one........buy it for a hundred bucks
step two........buy an e36 M3 motor/trans for a few thousand bucks and install
step three......give your significant other the e46 cause it's too slow now
DJ Professor is my name, swapping M20 motors into US spec e21's (with no 323 goodies) is my game.
I thread jack like no other......
so in other words its not worth gettin the car . too much $ an work 2 fix ,Maybe i can sell it for parts
If you get it for free, sure.Originally Posted by whitedove

indeed........unless you want to make a fun streeter/track car or have a spare motor on hand to toss in it and flip it.
