    MAR loaner tool thread

A few phone calls from fellow BFc'ers this weekend has inspired me to start this loaner tool thread. The idea will be to post what tools you have that you think others might need to borrow occasionally, and an approximate location where they can be picked up and returned to. If this thread gets big enough, I'll edit it (and get Preppy to help) and make this post for links to subthreads for the various metro areas within the MAR - Ballamore, Philly, DC, Middle Of Nowhere, etc.

    I'll start-I've got:
pressure bleeder that's great for one-man brake and clutch bleeding
Internal torx drivers in just about every size
e10 and e12 external ratching Trox wrench (good for replacing window regulators on e39s)

I've got other stuff too, but that's all I can think of for the unusual tools. My location is info above.

I have all the usual metric tools (5mm-26mm combo, metric and SAE flare, tons of sockets, crow's feet, etc etc). A couple interesting things that most folks might not have:

Hammer driver / impact driver: This is essential for getting out stuck screws (such as brake rotor retainer screws)
One-man brake bleeding setup (no pressure bleeder needed, just a one way valve and a catch can)
Phoenix Injector (essential for bleeding and flushing BMW clutch hydraulics)
    Oxygen sensor tool
Feeler gauges for spark plug gap / valve adjustment
Manometers for synchronizing motorcycle carbs (non-mercury type)

    I got a sawzall

Actually, before this gets all out of whack, maybe someone can park it and have a single post that's editable and categorized.

I'm sure you're right. Whatever the size it's the one you use for the oil filter cap. I also forgot to mention I have an R5/FCX-II-16.

I think that should be proper etiquette, as most of us only know each other through the internet; if I loan out tools, I would have the same stipulation.

To the point, I'm in North Arlington and I have:

    Full wrench and socket set
    Ramps
    4 Jack stands
    2 floor jacks
    Vacuum bleeder

I'm basically right in Tysons Corner and have:

    Top Side oil extractor
    Full socket set
BMW sizes deep wall impact sockets
all kinds of stuff for wiring misc parts (like headlights, AEs, 18 button OBC's (kill me.))
    The end is near.
