Hello all, I have been reading alot of posts on the 7 series and have done a few searches and none have come up with what I am needing.
I have an alternator that the bearings have gone out, lots of loud squealing that stops once it warms up. Is the replacement just like the manual says of which I have to remove the radiator? Or is there an easier way?
I also have a small puddle of anti-freeze, about 3" in diameter, forming after it sits over nite in the center under the car. Any ideas where this is coming from?
Thanks in advance,
Jeff

That's funny, mine just crapped out last week too.
Radiators are a common issue on these cars it seems.. maybe im just thinking E38..
You want to take out the radiator because your working in a tight space as it is..... you probably wont have any room to work... plus you dont want to damage the radiator
isn't your altenator watercooled? that could be your puddle of antifreeze.
I understand the issue of removing the radiator to prevent damage, was just wondering if there was an easier way.
The alternator in a 750 is air cooled just like all of the others.
Thanks,
Jeff
9/98 is when watercooled came about.Originally Posted by heinz
