Is it possible for a 1997 M3 to come with a cassette player? Sorry if its a dumb question. Also is it common for you M3 owners to have a dimming dash problem and a choppy computer screen? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks everyone,
Julian
Dimming dash or fading LCD? And yes, a casstte player is more then possible (And so is a 10-disc trunk mounted CD changer).
looks like LCD is fading were speedometer is and where computer is in the center console the words are all choppy. Thanks for your reply!
i have all of the above factory options lol. 6disc, cassete, dim radio, and dim odometer screen ohh well.
I had cassete player in my 98 stock.
2007 335i Space Grey Coupe
2009 128i Alpine Weiss
my 97 came with a casette player and a 6 disc changer in the trunk
cassette playaer=yes
The dim odometer is a very easy fix. Just replace the bulb that burned out. That was actually the first fix on my car 1 day after I bought it.
hahah ya i think most do. So i will fix the odometer light soon but still what do i do about the choppy computer screen, is it the same thing as the dash light?Originally Posted by Danny K

I think what you're referring to is a stuck pixel(s). I do not believe there is a simple fix for this (outside of replacing with a new unit).
replacing= alot of money i bet
There has been a fix for the OBC but it doesnt always work. I'd recommend just snooping around the classifieds and looking for a cheap OBC and just swapping the whole thing. Make sure the OBC is in good condition though... GOOD LUCK!
