I figured this would be a good place to post this. I am rebuilding my M50 motor in my 325is. It has 230k miles on it's time for a makeover. I thought of the possibility of going F/I route but decided against that. Instead I'd like to put in high quality parts. Just getting a slightly used M3 motor would cost about the same and get you a 3.2 or 3.0L 240hp motor with no science project required. Swap your M50 manifold over and it will be making another 15hp or so.
or a 328 engine for $1000, swap your M50 manifold over, M3 cams and software and have about 250hp for half the price
