Last year I had knee surgery on my left leg (blew out my ACL and tore the meniscus). Driving a stick (my previous M3) wasn't the best thing, so I decided to switch to an automatic tranny. Recently though, my knee has been feeling great, and I sorta wish I'd gotten the 6-speed now. But I do enjoy the automatic. Maybe I'm just getting oldout of curiosity, why the auto?

have you thought about the software from dinan for the tranny?

ronthebabboonslayer: "helmet guy's post is far from polluting"
Yes, and I'm very close to getting it. But I don't think the full throttle shift points and rev limiter need to be any higher on this engine (they're at the stock points right now with the current SW).Originally posted by dasMafia

Hello : , My name is Scott and I have lurked about the forums for around a year now and three weeks ago I began the wonderful (expensive? nah...) experience of Bimmer ownership. The "Beast" as I affectionatly car her, fell into my lap at an oppurtune time (blown head gasket on the Saturn SL2 - haven't gotten around to fixing that for some reason : ) Here are the numbers:

3) Design generation: e28
4) Color: currently Bronzitbeige-Metallic

6) Modifications: so far, crime stopper 533i alarm, ~1000 watt sound system (stats and photos on completion) Just got OMP seats for the front, will install soon (photos on completion), hell, photos of the car as it stands, as soon is I find my digital camera...
7) Use: as often as possible, repeat as necessary...
8) Awards or Accomplishments: I was once double dog dared to put my tongue on a frozen flag pole...wait or was that a movie?
9) Ownership history, when did you buy it, etc...: I am the third owner. She was all original when I bought her. 160,000 on odometer. I do have a leaky ps system (Any advise is truly welcome!) Slight rust area around parking lights. (only rust on the car). Couple dents and dings, all minor. previous owner is a friend, works for a dealership, used the car to go 5 mins to work and back. He owned her for the last 7 years and put about 6,000 miles on her. Records log about half an inch thick for regular service like clock work.
I am happy to be a part of the Bimmerforums and hope to say hey to you all. I have installed many car stereos in my cars and my friends cars, and I am handy with a multimeter, (actually I'm a phone guy, if you have questions about phones and data networks even) please feel free to email me for any help I can provide. supersweet43@hotmail.com
good day to you sirs.....
