    Polishing Compound

I have no idea what the last person who had my car did to it but the trunk looks like hell. I tried Meguiars ScratchX but it didn't help much.

Before I apply more muscle I thought I'd pick your brains about what kind of polishing compound to use? People have suggested various 3M products, but where can I pick up something with a little more grit?

Maybe I'm better off with a light sanding and polishing it back to shiny?

    I hate bodywork...

    Alright back to work--

It's a difficult thing to polish a car the first time. I recommend getting a detailer to do it and practicing on an old car instead of your baby.

Airport parking lots are good places to practice

Well I did some minor work on my old F150, that turned out pretty good but I was using Turtle Wax Polishing Compound... I didn't like it too much. I would just get a very small amount on a rag and maybe add a little Meguiars liquid cleaner wax to keep it a little wet.

I'm just trying to see what's out there--- I've never met a product from Turtle Wax that I liked.

I'll see how good the digicam picks it up when I get home and let you guys see what I'm talking about.
