    Question Proper Jack stand use

Where would be the correct place to put jack stands? Any info appreciated.

there are more than one school of though on this one.

In the front I place them on the front frame rails:

the rails are about 10" in from the body, thye stick out from the floorpan.

In the rear I put them under the mounts that the subframe bolts to. If you look under the car right in front of the rear tire you will see a large bar that the control arms are attached to. that bar goes to the large tabs on the body that you can place the stand under. this tab is about 5" back from the factory jack mounting location. other people have used the diff hanger.

do not use the subframe, it is held to the car by bushings that you might damage.

Thanks to this and the rear shock install info. I appreciate, I'll let you know how it goes.
