Are High-flow cats what they claim?

I'm having a lot of trouble finding a way to remove the cats, due to the fed laws. In years past, I could always find someone willing to do some night work. Not anymore.

Anybody got aftermarket hi-flow cats that they were happy with?

night work? just a few bolts holding it on, and a few pre-made track pipes available.

Random Technology makes probably the best of the aftermarket ones, durability and efficiency wise. Only universal fits for BMW, meaning some quality time with your local welding shop.

Haven't heard too many details from people with verifiable power gains from aftermarket cats though.
hey lazybones: whatever you're asking, the answer is already in the archives.

The turbo applications don't use the stock exhaust system, track pipes don't fit.

Any reduction in back pressure is good for blown cars.

Thanks for the tip on a brand name.

I've also heard using 100 octane gas on inspection day can get you past the emission inspection...

    I think that's an old-husband's tale.

Unless there's something inherently 'cleaner' about the fuel in question, a higher octane fuel won't burn as well under low loads. - Beau

    What about Ethanol Blended Gasolines?
I exclusively run them for the power, but they are supposed to burn cleaner too.

True, but let's not generalize here. Octane has nothing to do with it. - Beau

And not even an issue. No emission inspections here.

Oh, John, you must be out of the 5 county area surrounding Philly, you're lucky...
