My car fan clutch went out yesterday. so I brought it into a shop to swap it out.. I thought I support my mechanic since he is a nice guy and it will be faster to get it fix than if I " DIY "
My Tech told me that my valve is noisy so He said he is going to swap in some Lubro-moly Anti-friction motor oil. It will clear out the valve noise. That stuff is weird the oil is totally black.. it is like a dull black. He said the stuff is great.. Anyone used it?
Well, I'm getting the car back today so I will see if it take away the valve noise and maybe give me better performance.
OK since no one reply to give me the 411 on lubro-Moly Mos2 antifriction motor oil.
Here is my impression.
The valve noise has surely gone away for the most part. The engine seem smoother. I hope I get better milege. I was using Mobil 1 before my tech change out the oil to Lubro-Moly and I can feel the improvement from Mobil 1
Interesting stuff.
hmm - never heard of the stuff... I'm assuming it's some sort of engine cleaner like Auto RX that you run through the system before an oil change?
I used Auto RX on my sister's POS mazda protege because it had a pretty bad sludge problem due to lack of oil changes - cleaned the thing right out - I was pretty amazed.
no it is the motor oil. full 5-6 quart of it.. but they are packaged in litres..
I've heard of the stuff, pretty expensive over here. I was wondering if it would work well. What weight did you use? Bavauto carries lubro moly, and they make sure to mention it in every brochure
the MoS2 antifriction only comes 10-40
I like it.. definitely an improvement over Mobil 1.
I've used the stuff from time to time, depending on where I do my oil change. I like it, although I don't notice that much of a difference comparing it with other major synthetic oil. Its about the same price too.
BMW recommends this motor oil for almost any BMW. I use it in my '03 530i and it works great. A HUGE upgrade from Castrol full synthetic. Bavauto is a great place to buy it from.
How is is a huge upgrade? I'd love if it was but castrol edge is pretty darn good seeing as it lasts at least 10k between changesOriginally Posted by bmwriggs
I still own an e30, but life has picked up speed and I no longer frequent this forum or own my e39. Thanks for 7 years of help everyone!
