Question on the non-tu m62 motors with no vanos. How easy is it to adjust your timing?
Timing is not adjustable, except electronically by the DME. Why do you ask?

The DME will only adjust the spark timing.
The cam to crank timing is fixed on the non-tu engines.
During my timing guide job which my guides were crumbling as I was pulling them off (tons of plastic in oil pan), I got my flywheel pin in and bank 1 TDC, thought I had bank 2 TDC.
My cam holding tool wasn’t seating correctly on bank 2 and it back spin on me while unbolting my timing sprocket with the e10 bolts.
I put bank 2 TDC (dots up) and seating the cam holding tool correctly.
1st question, is as long as I put it back TDC after it back doing and locked it down correctly with the flywheel locked TDC should I still be in correct timing?
2nd question is if I replaced all my chains, sprockets, and tensioners and my sprockets and chains don’t align in the exact previous positions as the old ones, should I still be okay?
I’m mainly concerned about the plate on top and I read something about the dots on the sprockets needing to me lined up... not sure if that was on a tu motor or not.
My top plate on the bank 1 cam circled is not in its original position but I figured since the cams and flywheel are locked in place and the cams, sprockets, and chains are always moving when the car is operating that it should not matter what position I bolt that plate back on...
After all the rambling did I screw up if so where do I correct my errors?
