Had a similar problem with a Z3 years ago - dealer determined it wasn't an electrical fault and re-set the OBC that fixed the problem
Hi - maybe check the BMW Club website www.bmwclubqld.asn.au as there's usually something happening - some of our members get together occasionally for private runs and there's usually a lot of good information for mods, etc., via the Club's email Discussion list (subscribe on the website, post the question, and see what comes back)

Hi Robert,
Sounds like you are well versed in the ways of BMW.
Re: Attaching pics. The easiest way is to open an account (free) with http://photobucket.com/ User friendly, make sure you click on 'Keep my Albums Private'.
Very secure site and simple to down/upload pics. Best to reduce them first using something like: http://www.tucows.com/preview/194967 Again another user friendly (and free) site to resize, trim, edit etc any pics. Resize them down to about 800 x 600 pixels (or less) for fast loading into your album. This facility is continually upgrading and improving, currently offering version 4.25, I've got 4.1.
Once you have uploaded pics onto your Photobucket Album(s) simply get the code, in this case the 'img' code. Copy it, then paste it straight onto this working face, when you click 'Preview Post' wolla, their's your pic.
GL with your project M6 and getting your best pics posted here.

Hi, I am new here. Being a proud owner of E36 328i by 3 days.
I am in Sydney....
Sorry about that title, I just needed a collective noun in a hurry.
Just bought a 750i V12 on eBay for AU$2k and feel like I won the lottery, considering their original sale price. I pick her up in about 6 hours, so after that I may or may not be so cheery. Hey, if it's a lemon I can always use the engine for a Lambo replica, nie?

So whats the 750 like that you scored? I was watching this one. Was going to buy it as a spares car but dont have the room. Have three cars here as it is. Post some pics if you get a chance would like to have a look.
Regards
Body: A few small dings, mostly where someone tried to get into the front passenger door. Cracks on the roof between windscreen and sunroof from poor preparation before it had a total respray. Paint is in very good shape and it cleaned up beautifully with a wash and wax.
Interior: Pigsty. Full of rubbish, dirty door panels, carpets and seats. Leather has no tears and it will clean up well.
Engine: Runs OK but needs some work to get it purring properly, probably just plugs and air filters. Slightly smokes when cold but goes away soon enough once warmed up, and doesn't blow any blue smoke on acceleration. I was dubious about the claim of 173,000km but apparently it's correct, judging by this.
Electrical: Loom in the engine bay is brittle and several connectors have disintegrated. I have no low beam or fog lights and am still tracing this problem. Intermittently refuses to start. Fuses in the front box are not the right values.
General: There are lots of little items broken or missing, indicating a life of neglect. OTOH there was paperwork in the glovebox proving that it passed a roadworthy inspection in 2008 after the rear muffler was replaced. Since it hasn't been driven much since then I have high hopes that it will be back on the road shortly. I also scored a spare set of wheels with 50% Hankooks fitted, which was a nice bonus.
Satisfaction level: At $2000 I think I got my money's worth.
Rob
p.s. Sorry, can't post photos, this seems to be disabled for newbies.

Sunday Evening (6.00 pm meet for 6:30 depature), the cruise will be held due on the day of the start of daylight savings, therefore, as a twilight event, it should make for a good drive there and back.
Will be heading off from Adelaide, meeting at Burnside Village top carpark of Portrush Road. There will be a direct route there, we will travel into Normanville from then on..
Any other details will be added...
Vist the BMWDCSA Official Website

Hi All, brand new to these forums, but am a very active member of Skylines Australia.
Just collected my new daily driver today, and I'm on the Gold Coast: 1998 E39 540i: it has a full Sachs suspension kit, and skirts/lips that were apparently a factory option in Japan (the car is a personal import)...
So far, VERY impressed! Looking forward to rectifying a few small issues, and taking it for a big drive next week
Will post pics as soon as I'm able, but it is black on black.
G'day Gents,
Im from Brissy, know a few members on here, but not been a massive poster.
Got an E36 that im putting a 1J into, about to put a build thread into Engine Conversions, needing to tap into the know-how of Bimmerforums, to minimise the hair loss associated with making Toyota stuff talk to BMW stuff...
Hope to see a few of you around at some cruises etc in the future!!!

Welcome and grats. I also picked up an e39. I got a e39 98 528i touring if I can give u a heads up on the v8s. They're known to leak oil from the rocker cover. When you get them fixed, change the gasket as well as the rubber seals. The seals go hard over time which looses compression and leads to premature leaks if not done at the same time. Post pics when u can

Hey guys, vice president of BMW Drivers Club of S.A
I have seen a few Adelaiders post here, just email me at,
aparaskevopoulos@live.com or facebook BMWDCSA, or find me, Anastase Paraskevopoulos..
The last cruise was really good, and we will be holding a big Show n Shine in February 2011, stay tuned.
Anything happening in Sydney ??
It seems to me like we have a really boring BMW community here, compared to the US..
