forget this cleaner/additive stuff, gasoline engines don't really get dirty around the intake valves since theres always gasoline going through. most of these additives you put in your tank are made to give your car a little extra power for as long as you have it mixed in your tank, so you think "wow, engine clean now, best product ever, must tell friends about it", and then the additive company makes more money. better check out what's going on with the icv
I got to about page 47 of this thread and searched for hours and nothing like what I am experiencing. Cold or hot does not matter. When I rev the engine under load or not it will rev to 3k and bounce like it has 2 step. If I keep on the throttle it will rise to 5kish and resume the "2step" behavior. I've tried a new o2 sensor, new filter, vac leaks, cleaned the maf sensor and the problem persists.

I think I may have fixed it. The ground that bolts to the engine hoist arm was split under the manifold. Turned it on let it run for 1 minute and tried revving. Only went to 5k (no problems) as at this point it was 11pm.
Hey guys, first post here this forum has helped so much to where I never had to post. My 97 e36 328i is having the bogging/ surging problem where it runs fine for the first 30 minutes then it just starts bogging out no power and if you force the throttle it will stall out. It starts up fine everytime! Only codes I have are 02 codes. Even if I unplug the 02s it still does it. I’ve taken my car to bmw specialist and he thinks it’s the ews or the ecu… I don’t see how it would be the ews I was reading that would cause a no start. Please someone help I’m at the breaking point
