Alright guys,
Been trying to plan this one for a while now and its almost all set up. Without indepth details to bore you with at the start of this thread, We will be having a nice meet and greet and a fabulous causal lunch at a place called "The Oasis" in Winchester, TN. After we feed our faces, we will be having a fun drive around Franklin, Sherwood, Monteagle and some other areas around there. The drive should last probally about 1 hour & 1/2 to 2 hours depending on how "spirited" we are that day . We will be meeting in "The Oasis" parking lot around 10 to 10:30 AM with expectaions to be eating lunch at least by 11:15 to 11:30. We should have more than enough room in the parking lot for all of us. As it stands right now, we already have a nice group coming with more to come hopefully. Its just a month away and is still probally more than enough time for people to make plans to join in. I can post the address of "The Oasis" in case some of you want to Mapquest it for directions. For all the Chattanooga peeps: We will be meeting at the Cracker Barrel in Tiftonia at Exit 174 off of I-24 at 9:00 AM SHARP. It will only take us about an hour to make up to the meeting spot. We will be leaving no later than 9:15 AM. We will be taking the backroads all the way to the top of Monteagle. I would advise all of the Nashville and surrounding area people to meet up and convoy over as well, just so we dont have any confusion or stragglers left behind. I will have the route maps for everyone on the day of just in case someone gets lost. I think I have blabbered enough now. If anyone needs anything my Cell # is (423)-488-2773. Just add your name to the list and come have a grand ole time! Ill keep everyone posted if anything changes. Hope to see all of you there.

would it be faster for me to go to Chatty or nashville? it is about the same drive either way.............. gives me a whole month to get my car tuned.
If you come here to Chatty you can make the drive over with us. Very fun road that we will be on. Its all your call though.

Maybe gas prices will be down before the date of the GTG...
Josh K
yeah, it will probably be $4.00/G
It will still be worth it though...Going to be a nice meet if everyone stays in.
Josh K
The beater 5er and I will try to make it.
Just got home from driving the route one time...I think you guys will have a good time. Its not too long but will be very fun. Id say it will probally take about 45 minutes to an hour to drive it. Im wanting more meet and greet time than anything. Glad all you guys can make it out!

I've got all my suspension mods ordered and will have them installed for a check ride on this run, before going to Deals Gap the weekend of Oct.7-9. Maybe I'll be able to keep up with you now.
Thanks for setting this up and looking forward to the run.
Are you going to the Choo Choo Chapter pic-nic?
John B.
Hey buddy,
Yeah, I will be at the picnic. It starts at 6:30. What mods did you order?

I finally got the ICV cleaned in the 318. It runs smooth as "butta" now. I'm starting the install this weekend and hopefully have it ready to show off by this run. I'm also planning on joining the Choo Choo Chapter and meeting some other enthusiasts. Thanks for all your help.
No problem, see you sometime soon.Originally Posted by betta2bme
Good luck on the install.

Cool buddy! Like you said before, maybe now with the mods you can keep up I kid! I kid!...Your car should be rockin with that stuff. With springs alone you will be able to tell a huge difference. Im so pumped about this drive. Its been a while since we have done one and it looks like we will have a nice turnout. Cya at the picnic John!
Josh K
I'm looking forward to the drive as well.Originally Posted by 325i Vert
What suspension work did you do to yours, it seems to handle the corners quite well. I know you told me, but I forgot.
Cya,

The only mod I have done is springs and wider wheels/tires. It made a world of difference going from the 195's to 225/50's on my car. I love them.

Cool! The more the better! Post up on the list how many will be coming when you know. Its gonna be a good one!

Looks like we are going to have a couple cars of the other German sort at this run as well. A couple V-dub people should be joining us as well. I hope everyone will still be able to join in despite the awful gas prices...
Josh K
Been a while since I posted up. But I am hopeful to join as well.
Sounds like fun and there are some pretty sweet roads around that area. (I recently went exploring on my m/c.)
I'll bring the TN Gazateer and/or laptop with Streets and Trips. If no real route is planned, we can get out the ol map and come up with something.
Better be top-down weather!
BTW, the recent BMWCCA OHC (Old Hickory Chapter) meeting was a pretty good one. We met at The Gerst Haus had some schnitzel and weiss bier (and more weiss bier). A good time to be had. If you're nearby, come out and join us. The next one is a a BBQ joint in the Cool Springs area (Franklin, TN). (Germans like BBQ too, so long as there's bier! Ask me how I know...)
shopping... F30, Sportline, Silver, Red...
Should be some nice topless weather I do have a route planned but that can change and it usualy does. If you have any recomendations on what roads let me know. I am going by the roads that I know of but please give me your input as well. We are going to have a very nice group coming from here and hopefully your nashville guys will as well. Does everyone from Nashville have a meeting place yet to convoy over as a group?
