First of all check all fuses, also the ones under the rear seat, here are the wiring diagrams where you see all fuses, where they are and for what they are http://shark.armchair.mb.ca/~dave/BMW/e34/
in case you have a seat and mirror module, check all the connections in and out of the module, it is located under driver seat

Since this is the official thread.... Thought this would be a good place to post.

My sport seats have a failing worm gear mechanism that controls tilt. Anybody know where to get one? Is it actually the worm gear itself that fails? Or is it the worm gear guide pad? Or is it the round drive gear the worm gear acts on? Basically need a good hinge assembly for my sport seat.
To be clear, my seat twist issues have been resolved with the cables, but my worm gear mechanism on the drivers seat right hand side is starting to strip.
