Just got it back on the road after it had been sitting for almost 17 years in a barn. Still have lots of work to do, but it came will full receipts from '76 to current (including the original manual and warranty books!). I'll post more photos at some point.

Simple, and clean. Nice, Mike. Congrats.

Took a great fall drive yesterday - caught a nice shot with the new shoes...

Hey Andy - Thanks!
Yep -- 1982-vintage 16x7.25 'small-center' Epsilons. Something fresh after running the Hocks for 15 years.
I dropped ~7lbs/corner...
Great new look!
Looks really clean. That's neither Inka nor Colorado - but I like it (what's the color?).
BTW, Andy is that your ~40th 02? ;-)
Lol, probably 40th or so. I have actually owned this one twice...Verona, iphone 3 pic right before the rains started. I took this pic and the UPS truck pulled up with my real Euro bumpers. I kinda like that ratty looking fiberglass one.
Just saw the additional 'transformation' pics on FAQ. So that's your M42 turbo beast. NIIIICE!
2002beb, that red interior is like, perfect.
1976, and I've know the car since I was 6 years old or so. Mine's allegedly going to be running over the winter. If I can divert the Jeep attention to the Bimmer, I'm golden. This car was purchased by my father in Michigan in '77 or '78. He then sold it a few years later, with a right-of-first-refusal request, which the purchaser honored, and we got it back a few years after that. It had a new (Maaco-esque) paintjob on it, but we had it back. In 2005, he signed the title over to me. The head is in the back seat, all machined and ready to go. The carb has been rebuilt. We just need to assemble everything, re-do the brakes, put new shoes on...and then eventually deal with the second gear synchro. My husband and I are butting heads over what needs to be done. I want about $2K worth of work (just enough to get it running - I'm fine with a "rat rod" for now)...he wants about $20K.

Blu: I'm with 2many - fix it enough to get it driving well, get to enjoy it, then put more money into it after to get it enhanced to where you want it. ($20k upgrade/update seems more than 'very enhanced', BTW.)
Andy: Ooohh GTS Classics - which model? Their seats are amazing (lust lust).
Hey - I just noticed that the pic you posted of your Verona turbo beast above has changed to a steering wheel pic ?????
Thought this was a nice mirrored reflection (and fitment) shot. ;-p

"what is this POS E23 steering wheel doing in here? I guess it's better than the stock school bus wheel..."

I picked up this bad boy for really really cheap. it's rusty but thanfully not in the floorpanel or shock towers. I'll probably never get around to doing any body work but i do want to get the suspension and brakes sorted out so i can do some track days down the road. I did a little photoshop to keep me motivated haha.
