    M3 and value questions

I am a current Audi A6 2.7T owner looking to purchase a BMW. I started looking at the 530, which then had me look at the 540, and now a M3. Performance is a big thing with me. I am told like the 530 and 540 if I run snow’s on the M3 it will be fine? I live in New England. What would be a good deal on the M3 I have listed below?

The problem is I sell my cars ever two years. I am trying to find the best deal where I will loose the least amount of cash in two years when I sell. Any suggestions with seeing the prices and cars below?

Right now I can pick up a

    Thanks

If you do lots of winter driving...why not get one of the performance Audi S models? There a several Audi's that compare nicely with the M3. I can't fault you for wanting an M3 - you'll love it.

I drive mine in the winter but only on clear days - so I can't comment on it's handling in ice & snow.

The 2001-2004 S4's are slower than the 2001-2005 M's (Stock For Stock). They never put the 340 HP into the S4 until 2005 I believe. I am looking for a 2002 or 2003 to stay in my price range. If I do that with an S4 I will get the 250 HP version. The 0-60 stock on the M3 is a second or so faster than the S4. I would have to mod the S4 I believe to get that. With the twin turbo's that scares me. I just had the cam seal gasket replaced at 52K and my twin turbo is stock.

What I have to weigh out is speed compared to traction.

    Thanks

I had 17 inch wheels with snow tires, and had no problem getting around. Getting up steep hills when the snow is deeper than the bumper clearance is a another story. But, it is not impossible to do if you're careful. If you need four doors, get a 540/6MT, if not get the M, but make sure it had all of the recall work done. GL

My Ti Silver 2002 M3 will be up for sale in a week or two (waiting on delivery of another car).

It has EVERY option except 19" wheels (this means cheaper tires), and many updates. It is a Cert. Pre-Owned (CPO) w/ 100K BMW warranty. Well maintained and runs perfect. PM me if interested.
