I'm considering if I should get a extended warranty on a 4 year old, 47,000 mile '98 M3 convertible? I might want to get extended warranty simply in case the motor for the top goes out.
What do you guys think?

warrantees are like this. For small stuff, they pay out but no where does it even come close to what u pay them for. When big ticket items come up like engine or tranny they will almost always say it's from abuse and deny coverage. I paid 2600 for 7 years 100K mile warranty. So far, I made two claims, one for a AC controller and a lock actuator(still haven't got paid). That's about $300 worth of stuff that I paid $2600 for. If you do buy a warranty u have to make sure you keep ALL maintenance receipts. They will fight you tooth and nail if you are missing some maintenance.
