THe base of my windshield wiper arms rub against the underside of the hood on my '92 525i. It had worn the metal on the arms, and wore off some paint on the underside of the hood, but it still functions fine. Doesn't look like I can adjust the arms, any suggestions out there?
It is a bit of a caveman approach but can't you just bend in a little kink in the arm, not too much as to reduce the length of the blade but just enough to give it extra clearence so that it misses your hood, it may not need much of a bend, be carefull if you do bend them though as they don't need too much force and if you over do it then you will bend the arm in half, just use mild pressure and a bit at a time.:

pop the cover ......... 13mm socket and remove the arm and adjust
Bill has a good suggestion. But it could also be bent. I removed my wiper arms once to clean under the plastic cover and it was difficult to remove them. I acutally had to get out a gear puller and put two arms on it to remove them. (yes I removed the nut) They were on there that hard. Apparently they have never been removed before that.

make sure the arms were not installed REVERSED. Mines was hitting the hood and I found out it was put on criss crossed.
