    Service E36 323i at Non-BMW Mechanic

    Hello All

I live in Australia and am 4 hours drive from my nearest BMW dealer.

My car is almost due for it's first service since I bought it, is it OK to get it serviced at a regular mechanics. Will this affect it's resale value?

Also, how about the service lights? How do I reset those, I believe it is a BMW tool that a regular mechanic would not have.

Lots of people go to a NON BMW mechanic/dealership. They will have all the tools and resale value will not change.
