I clean my car, no one else touches it.
I clean it, but if my son wants to wash it for $5 I let him.
I take it to a nice professional place that does a great job.
I take it to a drive through, I don't even know what soap or wax is...
I am just wondering who here actually cleans and details their own car, because it appears that the show and shine area never really gets any play. So I am just wondering if you guys forlk out the cash and take it to get it professionally detailed, or you just don't like going into the show and shine area?
I don't quite yet have a car, so I voted for the one that *will* be. NOBODY will be allowed to touch my car As it is, I do more or less the entire families cars every week.... great way to earn some cash
I will detail my car myself but as far as regular washings and vacumings I take it down the road to the Car Spa. If it is going to get fucked up, chances are it won't be at the car wash. It will be in a parking lot where no one is held accountable... I've got a few little dents from doors being opened up into it.

I do all the cleaning myself, I don't let anyone get close to my car. I'm too lazy with the 56k to go to the show and shine area... I visit every once in a while though.
I do it all myself, except in the winter when I have to take it to this nice "hand-wash" place for $10.00.
Not that you Cali guys have any idea what winter is... :
ACS Front Spoiler | Bavarian Autosport Strut Bar | Bilstein HD Struts | Dinan Cold Air Intake | Dinan Stage II Software
Eisenmann High Performance Exhaust | H&R Stage II Sport Springs | Mobile Video & Bass Upgrades.
Only I wash my car...
Only I wax my car...
etc
I dont visit the show and shine forum because I am too poor to buy the products I want... like Zaino.. like 80 dollars for the whole setup..
Now a days I just get paid to wash my car... I do it at work on saturdays usually...
Here.. I'll make you jealous..
We have 2 bottles of fluids.. you spray them on the wheels together.. wait about 5 seconds.. spray it with the pressure washer... and the wheels are spotless.. SPOTLESS... You dont touch them.. :12:
You are kidding, right? The simple fact we all troll message boards for hours reading about our cars proves we are fanatical, you don;t need a detailing poll. HEH
No way would I let anyone else wash/detail my car. I don't want to take a chance on having my paint damaged . I am still learning to detail properly, but I am getting great results (better than some professional jobs I've seen). 'Nuff said.
I was just wondering, because I go into the forum on detailing, and it looks like me and a few others are the only people in there EVER. It is quite sad, I actually expected to see maybe 3 people say that they were the only ones to touch their car, and all others to respond that they go to drive throughs.

02' Porsche 911 Carrera
11' BMW X3
Since I don't *have* my *own* car yet, I can't say I detail my car...but I definitely detail about 10-15 cars per week...my neighbor's...good money...
When I do get my e30 m3, I'm going to be the ONLY one that touches it.

I think most car care places add silicon carbide to the wash water. No way in hell anybody touches my car but me. I'll certainly let folks drive my car. . . I have no problem with that, but they aren't gonna wash it!
The dealer completely swirled my clearcoat one time. I was furious, had to spend an entire saturday getting it back to proper condition.

Me and only me, always, no matter what.
No, there are not too many fourms. It is just lack or participation over all the fourms we have.Originally posted by JasonJ75

no one touches my car but me. i'm too meticulous to trust anyone with an easily damagable surface like that
It goes without saying...no one washes my car but me. I am extremely careful/anal when it comes to the Bimmer.
