What to look for when buying a used BMW?

    Hello,

I am new to this forum and am in the market for a used BMW. I am looking to spend up to about $15,000. What models do you recommend? I do not want a hatchback. I like performance but it will not my main deciding factor. I do plan to do some basic performance mods reguardless of what model I get. Is there anything specific to look for and pay attention to when looking at a used BMW? Thanks for any help.

Also, the original Z3 would fit that price range.

The best model (from what I've heard) of the 325 was in 95.

As with any car, look for good maintenance records, good quality of body work, and overall drivability.

    no BMW at the time
if it drives good- pull up a carfax and check it's records.

Then, maintenance records are the key to driving worry-free
