Aftermarket pioneer radio resets when car is turned off then on. ALWAYS? HELP!!

I have a 95 325i with. Pioneer headunit. I bought the car from a previous owner and the radio was in the car already. Everytime the key is turned on then off then on the radio would reset and i would have to change the clock back and redo everything. Every single time i got in the car. My sister had a bimmer a few years bavk and she said the same thing happened to her you cant fix it. I think that is bullshit. Thee has to be a code or something to make the radio not reset. If it helps i have no am or fm radio. I think its the signal not to sure.

Check the permanent hot lead to the head unit to make sure it is not on a switched circuit.

Now what exactly do you mean by "switched circuit"?

Your headunit has a wire that connects to a switched power source ie ignition, and a wire connecting to constant power ie battery. I seem to remember some Pioneers have 2 constant power wires. If you don't have the constant wire connected then you lose all your setting when ignition is switched off.

Note: I assume the wires are red and orange. Check your owners manual to be sure.

    All of them!
Pull the deck, swap red and yellow, as everyone else has said, that is 99.99% it

@rogan: they went IEC 20 years ago, no more orange constant

Apologies, we're a bit behind the times down here. Either that or early onset dementia.
