95 Supercharged M3 Vs Mercedes AMG
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
My first kill in the riced out 95BMW M3. Yes you heard correct “Riced”
Why? May you ask is my car “Riced”. Very simple the freaking exhaust is so loud.
After the fabulous job done by 325iSBimmer the car sounded great until 2000Rpm then it sounds so loud I feel like a 19 year old kid with a fart can for the exhaust. However I have spoken to 325iSBimmer and we are going to correct the problem with a couple of resonators.
Now back to the story. I’m driving my Riced out white 95 E36 M3 towards the highway, wondering if I will meet some that would indulge me in a friendly confrontation. I’m approaching the apex of the onramp to the highway. As I glance in my side view mirror, what’s this? One black 4 door Mercedes with pure white rims is approaching on my left side in the middle lane. My course of action was swift WOT, the Ricer exhaust whaling away as the mighty M3 lurches forward with authority. This ricer move has now placed me right behind the black Mercedes. I glance at the badge “AMG”. I’m wondering will this be my first kill or will I be killed in the riced out M3. I accelerate to place my self besides the AMG, before I knew it he does the ricer move he is on WOT. I indulge his request, I’m in 3rd gear 5000, 6000, 7000 shift he is at my side. As the tach climbs through the Rpm range all I can see is the rapidly disappearing AMG in my side view mirror. The ricer sound is now droned out by the Hoover sound of the supercharger. The M3 screaming with delight, 140, 150, 155, 160 Mph traffic approaching I shut her down.
I don’t know what type of AMG this was; all I know it was the earlier body style.

most likely not an AMG because AMGs don't come with "white" rims.
AMG what?

160MPH You must've been redlining in 5th, it takes a while to get up to that speed, even in a S/C M3. The fastest I've gone was about 142 and the speedo stops climbing quickly when you get to those speeds.Originally Posted by darkness95m3

rims would help a little to get there but I dont think they would make a huge differenceOriginally Posted by hellrot Ofl

Don't quote me on this but I believe it took about a good k or so, keep in mind I already was doing about 100Mph or close to it.Originally Posted by 96INFMSM3

They looked like Alpina rims that style any ways. They were not Mercedes rims at all.Originally Posted by FrankW
However whether or not it's AMG I could not tell you. I could stick the AMG logo on my M3.

considering that, this sounds correct. A stock e36 m3 can take a c36 (though it's very close). Your supercharged car certainly has the upper hand, and would take the OLDER e55 as well. Mods?Originally Posted by darkness95m3

30 grand cdn being 23 american (into engine and suspension), it's very safe to assume that a c32 will be left behind, and for in-house reference, the e46 m3. I was referring to the old e55, which was making similiar power to the c32 with more weight, so it shouldn't stand a chance to an extensively modified sc'd e36 m3. How much whp are you putting down? If around the 400 range (guessing according to your generous investments), even the new e55 should be scared, as it makes around the same to the rear wheels (20% drivetrain loss, so 380-400whp?). if your sc is a cf unit, then the only advantage the new e55 has is instant boost from the pd blower, but the merc is MUCH heavier than your car.
s/c-ed e36 M3 shouldn't have any problem with the C32 unless the C32's modded like Silvac32's EVOsport stage II.
Yeah most likely it was a c36 if it was an older body. I've driven a few and was about to buy one last summer, its a very nice Benz that you can get for a good price. I remember this was one of the first amg's i ever driven and it was very nice, classy and very clean looking with the amg rims and the Carbon Fiber detail. This was the first automatic when i got on it it spun 3rd gear. I never had a chance to really get on it at higher speeds but i'm sure they can handle themselves up there..
