How to remove E36 hood & trunk badges?

Hi all, I need to replace my rusted out BMW badges but how do I remove them without scratching up the paint? Also, opinions on Black and white "carbon fiber" badges as opposed to the traditional ones. My 325 is Red so black does look good against the paint but I dont want to 'cheapin' it.

if u push up on the grommets on the bottom itll lift a lil put a credit card next to it than pry up under it with a small flathead screw driver
